Timber doors in Flint
Security and Ironmongery in Flint is rarely a catalogue job. With slate-quarry terraces, Victorian resort stock and stone farmhouses making up much of the area, off-the-shelf sizes rarely line up. Set against severe Irish Sea exposure with very high rainfall, most joinery here eventually shows salt and rain combining to strip finishes and open glazing joints. Everything we do here comes back to locking specified to the actual risk rather than the cheapest option.
The site visit comes first, because assumptions made in an office get paid for on site. Give us the basics and you will have a written figure, not a range that moves later.
A local consideration we always raise: Llandudno's Victorian frontages are protected as a coherent conservation set.

Do you work in hardwood or softwood?
Both. Engineered hardwood is the default where movement or exposure is a concern, and slow-grown softwood is often the better value choice for painted work in sheltered positions. We will tell you which we would specify and why.
Do you take a deposit?
Not before the measured survey. A deposit is only requested once the survey is complete and you have approved the final schedule and price.
Can you price from drawings?
Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.
Is the timber certified?
All our stock is FSC certified and chain-of-custody documentation is supplied with the order, which most main contractors and specifiers now require for their records.
How do you handle glazing?
Standard double glazed units for most work, and slim-cavity units where a conservation officer has restricted sightlines. Single glazing with putty lines is available where the consent requires it.
