Timber doors in Roade
The Timber Patio Doors we make for Roade is set out from a survey, not a size chart. Because the area is mainly ironstone cottages, boot-and-shoe terraces and new town expansion housing, no two openings measure quite the same. Then there is dry inland conditions with limited coastal influence, which reliably produces seasonal shrinkage and glazing bead loosening on older painted units given enough seasons. The detail we will not compromise on is lift-slide gear that stays smooth on a heavy timber panel.
The survey happens before manufacture, which is why our units fit without packing or trimming. Rough dimensions and a couple of photographs are enough for us to price it properly.
Bear in mind for this area: ironstone reveals absorb water and hold it against frames in wet spells.

What guarantee do you provide?
Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.
Do you fit, or supply only?
Both. Supply-only is common for trade and contractor clients. For private clients we usually recommend supply and fit, because responsibility for the fit and the finish then sits in one place.
Is the timber certified?
All our stock is FSC certified and chain-of-custody documentation is supplied with the order, which most main contractors and specifiers now require for their records.
Can you match an existing profile?
Yes. If you can supply a section, a photograph with a rule in shot, or an old unit, we can replicate the profile. For conservation work this is usually the condition the planning officer will apply.
Do you work in hardwood or softwood?
Both. Engineered hardwood is the default where movement or exposure is a concern, and slow-grown softwood is often the better value choice for painted work in sheltered positions. We will tell you which we would specify and why.
